What a spectacular thing that’d be to witness! I wonder if it’d give the moon a tail or the earth a ring?
Ehm.. that’s kinda uncomfortably close. When is this supposed to happen?
If humanity can’t deal with earthbound asteroids in 5000 years time then frankly we deserve whatever comes to us.

The moon blew up without warning and for no apparent reason
It’s about damn time. The moon has been getting cocky and needs to be knocked down a peg. Maybe now it will think twice about being inhospitable and difficult to land on.
Or a 96% chance that this asteroid will not hit the moon.
How cool would it be if it really happened and on the side “bright side” of the moon. The impact would probably be visible with a good telescope
