As the title states, my grandmother gave me a birthday gift from Norway that’s been in the family since my family moved to Canada. There’s a cork stopper on the top and spout, so I don’t think it’s for tea. No one in the family knows what it’s for. Just wondering if anyone can help!

To add to the confusion, that engraved cock (rooster!) on the lid looks a lot like the one on the mark from the Sætre biscuits.
From what I could find online, it’s a kettle or teapot.

Pewter pots were also used to store beer, I think, grandpa had one at least (not the same design but same material).
It’s an antique tin pot (pewter), usually for coffee or tea. If it’s an old family hairloom, it might be from the 18-hundreds, but it’s difficult to judge based on the images.
