US on failure to reconstitute the Assembly: The integrity of the institutions is being jeopardized

The US Embassy in Kosovo has reacted to the failure to constitute the Assembly.
In a response to KOHA, the Embassy stated that this impasse is delaying the progress of Kosovo’s aspirations and is jeopardizing the integrity of Kosovo’s institutions.
The Embassy has called on political leaders to work to reach an agreement on the constitution of the Assembly.
“This ongoing impasse is delaying progress on Kosovo’s future aspirations and is jeopardizing the integrity of the institutions that the people of Kosovo fought so hard to create. We call on political leaders to take their responsibilities seriously and work together to reach an agreement on the constitution of the Assembly, which includes the election of a President and Deputy Presidents. They should use the coming weeks to find a way forward that ensures stable leadership in accordance with the Constitution. Political leaders should not rely on the Constitutional Court to fix a political impasse that only they can resolve. The people of Kosovo expect their leaders to fulfill their commitment to work in the best interests of the country,” a spokesperson for the US Embassy in Kosovo said.
The embassy said the US looks forward to working with the future Government of Kosovo to advance regional stability, security, and prosperity.
