      A transgender neo-nazi, that’s very progressive and inclusive. But more seriously, glad he got caught before murdering a load of people.

      So this guy will get out of prison at 24 or younger, having planned a mass shooting?

      Sentenced to 6 years in prison for terrorism/ breach of peace with racism offences, but doesn’t seem to have actually attacked anyone (or tried to) except worry a lot of people when 15-16.

      The offences seemed to have happened when 15 to 16 years old. And the offences were to tell people that he wanted to be a school shooter etc. One of the times that alarmed the school was when he turned up / was photographed in an outfit with a fake weapon for a drama class.

      Did download lots of stuff but seems not to have purchased or made any real weapons, explosives or poisons. Spent lots of time on neo-Nazi sites ‘groomed’ there(?).

      Teachers kept referring him to Prevent. A trans person – born female, identifies as male, autistic.

      Action needed to be taken – just seems slightly unjust, and certainly a waste of money that he didn’t get mental treatment (even secure treatment under sectioning to protect the public) and he was left to spiral in his fantasy world for so long to then convict him and lock him up for 6 years. Hopefully treatment will be provided otherwise in 4 years – or whenever released I imagine he will come out rather pissed off at the world ready to actually act on his thoughts.

      I just skimmed through it but what did they actually do that was terrorism or could lead to it? It seems extremely heavy handed to give a person like this 6 years instead of some monitored mental health support. They are still a child and got groomed by a horrific group. I could be wrong here I’m sure someone can clarify.

      One of the first comments on the story (granted, it’s the *daily mail*) was:

      “Oh look another (sic) trans with psycho issues,” not “my word, another white kid radicalized by a neo Nazi forum on Discord”.
