EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Community members in Evansville are planning to protest against CenterPoint Energy on Friday evening.
The group “Direct Action Against CenterPoint Energy” is planning the protest for 6 p.m. outside the CenterPoint Energy headquarters on Riverside Drive.
The protest comes after many residents expressed frustration over high bills during the recent heat.
“Bring your signs and express your frustrations with these unacceptable July bills. We will walk along the public sidewalks around the CenterPoint building per our 1st Amendment rights to freely assemble,” a statement from DAACE says.
