Hazy skies and a smell of fire wood filled the air in Madison Wednesday
MADISON, (WKOW) — The air quality level in Wisconsin has shifted from orange to red, according to the Wisconsin DNR.
The alert is in effect from 12 p.m. August 2 to 12 p.m. August 3.
Canadian wildfire smoke is impacting the air quality across the state this weekend with forecasts indicating a mix of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups and Unhealthy Air Quality Index levels as smoke circulates around a high-pressure system.
Heavier smoke is predicted in northern and eastern Wisconsin, while southern and western counties may experience lighter impacts.
Some areas might reach the upper range of Moderate AQI.
Sensitive groups are advised to reschedule outdoor activities or move them indoors and seek shelter if symptoms arise.
