Hi Hi!
34F South African here. I visited your beautiful country 2 years ago for the first time, for work, which was life changing in more than one way, and have had the privilege of being back a number of times ever since. I absolutely love your country – I had never seen snow before, and landing in Oslo that first time felt like I had woken up as a European on Christmas Day (utterly unlike the baking hot festive season we experience). Spending my first 3 months on a remote island in the north was otherworldly – a different kind of beauty to what I’m used to. Even some of your cities/towns boast such charm, prettiness, and vibrancy – something my brain absolutely loves/d!
I shan’t bore you with further gushing compliments and stories of your country, but just know – it rocks!
Now, to the point: I am lucky enough to be bringing my 72 y/o mom along for a 2-week work trip in September (Oslo and Stavanger) – it’s her first time, and bar the obvious things, I’d love to know what hidden gem restaurants, activities/ day trips, museums, art galleries etc you’d recommend she/we visit – bearing in mind her age and accessibility (i.e. hectic hikes are not suitable). I want her to see Norway’s beauty, charm and history, even if it’s a small fraction of it.
Any recommendations/advice would be most welcomed!
TIA from an enamoured South African 🙏🇿🇦
