OTE Telecom, Greece’s largest telecommunications operator, reported on Wednesday that adjusted core earnings for the second quarter rose 0.6% from a year earlier, driven by growth in its mobile segment and a rebound in fixed retail services.
Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose to 328.6 million euros ($380.52 million) from 326.7 million in the same period last year.
Mobile service revenues climbed 3.2% on the year, supported by a 5.8% increase in post-paid subscribers, while fixed retail services returned to growth, with double-digit gains in TV services and strong demand for fibre to the home (FTTH).
The FTTH customer base grew to 470,000, with record additions of 40,000 subscribers during the quarter, OTE said.
Looking ahead, OTE reiterated its 2025 guidance, projecting free cash flow of about 460 million euros, capital expenditure between 610 million euros and 620 million euros, primarily directed toward FTTH infrastructure expansion, while adjusted EBITDA growth in Greece is expected to reach nearly 2%.
The group also said it plans to distribute around 98% of its expected free cash flow for 2025, targeting total shareholder remuneration of 451 million euros through dividends and share buybacks.
