Lyric Theatre Company is bringing A Chorus Line to The Flynn Main Stage in Burlington this November. With one powerhouse number after another, A Chorus Line was instantly recognized as a classic, and is now celebrating its 50th anniversary of the original production.
Open to the public, Lyric Theatre Company is holding an informational Kick Off Meeting for the production at 6:30pm on August 20 at 7 Green Tree Drive, South Burlington, VT. Meet the team and learn more about the show, the audition process, and behind the scenes volunteer opportunities ranging from set construction and decoration to costume construction, sound technicians, and more.
While A Chorus Line is known for its iconic dance numbers, its brilliant fusion of song, dance, and authentic drama provides opportunities for performers from all backgrounds to showcase their talent. The artistic team is striving to cast the right person for the role, regardless of gender, race, age, ethnicity, or body type. “We are looking to build a cast of kind-hearted, supportive, hardworking humans that have the same desire to tell this story as we do,” shares Artistic Director Brita Down.
Auditions will be held August 24 at 12 pm, and August 25, 26, and 27 at 5:30pm, at 7 Green Tree Drive, South Burlington, VT. Performers must be at least 18 years old as of August 24 to audition. Comprehensive information about auditions can be found online at lyrictheatrevt.org/a-chorus-line/.
