He keeps shutting down things vital to farmers, aka his voters. And they’ll still vote for him.

  2. Official policy is now to put our heads in the sand. If we don’t measure it, it’s not real.

Kind of like Trump’s official policy with COVID.

One of the worst things about this man amongst many bad things is his complete and utter lack of respect for professionals who actually dedicated their lives to learning a subject and making sound determinations based on their training and experience. Whether it’s finance, medicine, law, national security, or science, he claims to know better. America really messed up this time letting this guy get anywhere near power again

  4. The US of A is going through its *Don’t Look Up* moment.

Its like watching someone do self immolation in slow motion.

Trump demands two satellites destroyed well before their end of life for purely political reasons, at massive cost to taxpayers.

These satellites were used by scientists and farmers at no cost to plan their harvest and monitor impacts of climate change.

    There.  Was that so hard?

Does anyone know if NOAA has any assets that do the same thing? Can they take over these two?

A lot of conservative policies, I can kinda see the rational, even if I think it’s misguided/wrong.

The anti-science stuff is one that will always confound me. I thought we wanted to make America great again.

Read any book on the cold war, and the two things that set the US aside as a truly great nation was the naval support of open trade, regardless of whose ship was flagged (something that had never been done in history), and the NASA led scientific missions to the moon.

It’s truly weird for me to hear conservatives brag about ‘the metric system never went to the moon’ yet they always try and defund NASA.

I’d expect a logical MAGA movement, that really wanted to address one of the pillars of American greatness, so say, ‘let’s go to Mars mofo, or even alpha centari’

  8. Proverb: “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”
Ending NASA CO2 missions may be rose colored glasses for a few, but blindness for most of us.

  9. Republicans will have to suffer and sacrifice to rebuild America and they should all be made to pay for it for the rest of their lives through work. It’s a price I’m willing to make them pay

  10. Scientists should start writing grants saying that there is a woke exoplanet and we need to build a gigantic laser to destroy it.

At this point i pretty think private space agencies like Axiom or SpaceX are the future even if they are less active and scientific friendly

Yeah they can’t be spending money on actually useful things when ICE is still waiting for their first main battle tank batallion

Hey America, your idiot of a president is killing your country slowly, ecologically and financially. Please don’t drag the rest of the world down with you.

  14. When asked for comment, the president shrugged, waved his hand, and said “you’ll be alright. I wouldn’t worry.”

99% of his administration is destroying things. It’s all he knows how to do.

If we quit measuring it, it will no longer be a problem. Problem solved!

  17. Way to go nazi republicans.

Also you dumbass republicans that aren’t nazis got fooled hard by these dictators. All the same hate towards you, but you are impacted worse by your elected dictators than the rest of us

  18. Scientists have said it’s past the point of no return so kinda not needed anymore anyway. Sad but true….

Lots of people in NASA voted for this. When they’re confronted with the fact this is happening, it’s amazing to see the mental gymnastics to maintain the disconnect of understanding.
