Serbian Party “SRCE”: Popovic’s guilty plea is proof that Vucic’s politics are falling apart

The deputy leader of the Serbian opposition party “Center of Serbia” (SRCE), Slobodan Cvejic, has assessed that the plea agreement that the deputy director of the Serbian office for Kosovo, Igor Popovic, has reached with the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo, is proof that the policy of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, is disintegrating in all directions.
Cvejiqi stated in a press release that the admission of the criminal offense of “inciting discord and intolerance” was initially denied, and then accepted, adding that he believes that only two reasons could be at play for this.
“Either, in both cases, the unfortunate Popović has realized that he can no longer count on the support of the Vučić regime to protect him if he continues to implement the leader’s crazy propaganda ideas, so he has decided, with the help of his lawyer, to find the fastest way to return to freedom in a subjugated Serbia; or Vučić, through Popović, has given Kurti a strong argument that the government in Serbia is lighting the fire in Kosovo,” Cvejić assessed.
The vice-chairman of the “SRCE” party added that “no matter how we look at it – it’s not good.”
“Similar to the debacle in Banjska – it doesn’t matter whether it’s due to incompetence or a deliberate attempt to serve Kurti’s interests, this merrymaking of the PPS has further weakened Serbia’s negotiating position in relation to Kosovo,” Cvejic said.
“For the Serbs who remain living in Kosovo, it is better that no one who has even a hint of any connection with Vučić ever mentions Kosovo again and does not “protect” our people there,” this Serbian oppositionist concluded.
