Serbian Finance Minister Darko Glišić Suffers Stroke During Live Interview

    In Serbia, Finance Minister Darko Glišić suffered a stroke during a live broadcast on TV Pink on August 6. The government official is currently in hospital and undergoing tests.

    The incident occurred during an interview: in the footage, the hosts expressed concern about the minister’s condition, after which the broadcast had to be suspended. Clips circulating on social media show that Glišić continued the conversation, although his condition deteriorated sharply.

    The head of the ruling SNS party, Miloš Vučević, visited Darko Glišić at the hospital on Sunday, August 10, to express support and to inquire about the patient’s condition.

    President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić also visited the minister on August 7 after he underwent surgery, trying to support the family and medical staff and reassure the public of due respect for the situation.

    “Glišić is talking; this is not entirely normal yet, but it’s wonderful that he is talking. He is moving his right arm and right leg, which are major signs of improvement. It is good that he can say when he started feeling unwell and how it happened.”

    According to doctors, Darko Glišić’s condition is stable; he is undergoing further examinations and full observation. The government promised vigilant monitoring of financial policy and support for economic stability during his absence while the rehabilitation process continues.

    The country’s leaders and members of parliament express support to the minister’s loved ones and his government colleagues. Further actions in the financial and budgetary sphere will be coordinated, taking into account the pace of rehabilitation and medical recommendations.
