Drilon Islami, 24, is very close to leaving CFR Cluj, just a few months after joining the team from Pristina during the summer transfer window.

The Kosovar midfielder, who came as a free agent and signed a one-year contract, has not yet debuted in any official match with the team from “Gruia”.

Despite CFR Cluj facing serious problems in the midfield department, coach Dan Petrescu is convinced of the player’s future and has communicated to the management his desire to release him.

According to fanatik.ro, Islami already has a concrete offer from the Balkans, while talks between the parties have begun.

A return to Kosovo would be a quick move for the midfielder, who before transferring to Romania had played for FC Ferizaj, FC Drita and FC Prishtina.

The move to CFR Cluj was Islam’s first experience outside his homeland, but it seems his adventure in the Romanian Super League will end much sooner than expected.
