Tristan Vukcevic shined in Serbia’s jersey at the Cyprus tournament, catching the attention of former NBA center Alexis Ajinca.
Currently an assistant coach with the Washington Wizards, Ajinca came to Cyprus with a clear mission — to scout Tristan Vukcevic’s performances.
“I’m here to watch him. We talked, and I told him to enjoy this experience. Playing for your national team is always something special. I loved playing for France, so he has to enjoy himself, enjoy the game, and give everything to succeed. Sometimes he won’t score points, but he will impact the game with rebounds, blocks, defense… he needs to influence the game in many ways,” Ajinca told Mozzart Sport, adding:
“He was great — both offensively and defensively. It’s good to see him enjoying playing for Serbia. I watched him in the last game where he played six minutes. I hoped he would get more time, but that’s the coach’s call. While on the court, he played well.”
Alexis Ajinca is a French basketball player who played center. He spent several seasons in the NBA with teams such as the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks.
