By utilising renewable energy sources, optimising materials and production processes, as well as continuously implementing improvement systems in environmental management, such as ISO 14001, Industrial Recense S.L is positioning itself as a reliable sustainable partner for the construction sector.
Due to the intensive use of steel, energy and industrial processes, which are used throughout the fastener industry, adopting sustainable practices to reduce a business’ carbon footprint, as well as generating less waste and offering responsible solutions are now key initiatives within the industry. “For Recense sustainability means a commitment to the environment, energy efficiency and social responsibility,” highlights the company. “It is a cross-cutting value that guides both our production processes and our relationships with clients and suppliers, as we are always aiming to minimise environmental impact and maximise social value.”
To do this, Recense has introduced various projects including energy generation, in the form of the company’s solar panels, offering clean energy but also reliability thanks to its immunity from fluctuating energy costs or shortages. Recense has also minimised its hazardous waste, as well as digitised its processes, which helps reduce paper consumption while improving operational efficiency.
“As we continue to improve our environmental goals, we have noticed a significant increase in customer demand regarding sustainability. Customers are requesting information on the origin of raw materials, environmental certifications, as well as carbon footprint and lifecycle analysis of manufacturing processes and products,” underlines Recense.
The company’s suppliers are also asked to provide quality and environmental certifications, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, as well as transparency in steel traceability and a reduction in the use of plastic packaging, using alternatives such as recycled cardboard.
Recense’s sustainability endeavours also encompass its staff, with internal training programmes on sustainability, awareness campaigns for responsible resource use, as well as integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria into its corporate culture.
Going forward, Recense intends to further expand its photovoltaic system, as well as automate its internal processes to promote greater efficiency and enable a stronger alliance with sustainable initiatives. Additionally, Recense sees opportunities in the launch of new fastener ranges, specially designed to lower environmental impact.
