Dr. Carrie Thiessen, assistant professor in the Division of Transplantation, was recently named a recipient of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) Health Policy Fellowship.

During this fellowship, Dr. Thiessen will develop essential skills, conduct impactful research, gain leadership experience and expand her professional network. In turn, she will advocate for and develop transplant related health policy expertise for the ASTS and the transplant community, specifically related to reducing organ non-use.

The American Society of Transplant Surgeons advances the art and science of transplant surgery through patient care, research, education and advocacy. The ASTS is dedicated to saving and improving lives through the transformative power of organ donation and transplant surgery.
