TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Toledo’s annual Black Men’s Wellness Day is coming up this weekend. It’s an event aimed at understanding health disparities and offering access to health screenings and resources.
The African American Male Wellness Agency is hosting the event and accompanying 5K walk and run on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Scott High School on Collingwood Blvd. It runs from 7 a.m. to noon.
It offers free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, a special pavilion just for seniors, interactive activities for kids, live music and more. There’s also a 5K walk and run that starts in front of Scott High School at 9:30 a.m.
“Whether you’ve been a part of our journey from the start or are just getting to know us, this day is for you,” the event page read. “Come, be a part of a day filled with knowledge, celebration, and unity. Let’s champion the cause of health equity and ensure a brighter, healthier future for all!”
