  1. Българи; също както и в Западна Македония. И в Северна Македония, и в Южна съща.

  2. Educate-Me-Now on

    For dummies:

    * **~42.6% Slavic** (from medieval Slavic migrations into the Balkans)
    * **~31.6% Macedonia_IA** (Iron Age Macedonian — local ancient Balkan population before the Slavs arrived)
    * **~25.8% Anatolian** (older ancestry from people who came into the Balkans from Anatolia thousands of years ago)

    0% “bulgar”

  3. Idek how bulgar most Bulgarians are. They sorta even get angry if you remind them the old Bulgars were Turkic. Something about Scythians is the most common weird ancient ancestry thing I ever heard from Bulgarians

  4. Can you share the coordinates you used for this? I only have one general set for Macedonia based on a combined sample of 32 people, and another for the Lerin/Florina with 20 individuals, but nothing as region-specific as what you’ve showing. I also wanted to mention that your results show lower Slavic ancestry than mine, which might be due to different source populations so I’d also appreciate it if you could share those as well

  5. Doesn’t make a lot of sense they’d be closer to central amd even northeastern Bulgarians than to Pirin Bulgarians.
