EDGEFIELD, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Edgefield County leaders are considering amending an ordinance regarding a 70-lot RV park proposal in Trenton near the Horse Creek Nature Preserve.

Citizens have been concerned about water contamination possibilities in creeks and ponds near the proposed lot, which is part of the reason the plan did not go through on July 4.

Leaders could add the changes that were brought up, and neighbors say they would be happy with the changes.

“We want to protect all those ponds and all those creeks from any sort of black water contamination,” said Randy Dedrickson, president of Horse Creek.“We’re very delighted to see that. Because now what’s going to happen here in Edgefield, instead of one page of RV park ordinances, they’re up to nine. And it’s going to be very good for the community.”
