  1. “All the climate science, and all of the other priorities that the last administration had at NASA, we’re going to move aside, and all of the science that we do is going to be directed towards exploration, which is the mission of NASA,” Duffy said during the appearance. “That’s why we have NASA, to explore, not to do all of these Earth sciences.”

  2. Imagine being an environmental scientist working for NASA and reading this headline 👎

  3. This is so sad. I hope this is a wake up call for anyone and anybody to do something.

  4. …suddenly all of the dumb assed people that were launched from Earth in the movie Prometheus makes sense.

“I’m gonna pet the strange alien animal! Clearly this is a great idea!”

“Not do all of these earth sciences…”

Oh, you mean the things that help us understand other planets and such? Got it.

    Fucking numb nuts fascist zealots.

  6. It’s the modern equivalent of book burning. Historically, people who burn books are rarely the good guys.

  7. You can move Earth Science from NASA away it good faith, maybe to NOAA or USGS. But I doubt if this proposition is made in good faith, with the goal of better administration of earth science

  8. Guys, guys, he’s calling for “End of Earth” science – resulting in more funding for this new study! /s

  9. A reporter *really* needs to ask Sean Duffy if he knows what NASA stands for next press conference.

  10. Lol yeah let’s just fire rockets into space with no regard for anything happening on Earth. Ignore the weather, that’s how you get good results on the launch pad. Clearly no idiotic partisan bs affecting this decision LMAO.

Moron doesn’t know that the first A stands for Aeronautics and wouldn’t understand what that word means anyway.

  12. The executive branch is run by an administration that operates off bribes. Every action we get is one that was paid for. This is what big oil billionaires paid trump for.

  13. Time to beg the Chinese for a space race. See who can put a climate science observation station up first.

Tell Trump that China thinks we are too slow, stupid, weak, fat, and ugly to do it. Also our hands are small.

  14. Hard to believe, but I think this guy could be causing less damage by making planes collide mid air again.

The US is plunging us into the next dark ages. This war against science coupled with the nightmare of unfettered AI and social media all owned by the worst people on the planet is not a good sign.

“With a background as a US Congressman, reality TV star, and television commentator, Duffy did not come to the position with a deep well of knowledge about spaceflight.” Clown go honk honk.

  17. ChronicBuzz187 on

Right… why would you want to know anything about what’s going on with the only habitable planet you have anyway?

  18. These people think they’re making permanent changes to our institutions. But all they’re doing is providing justifications for major reforms that will better protect them from partisan attacks once they’re kicked from power.

It’s actually a win to study earth in low earth orbit for space exploration. Small commercial satellites for example provide many benefits to that both in technology and fostering in a new generation of engineers. That’s too woke though, right?

  20. Just doing the bidding of the oil and gas companies. It’s Trump delivering on his promises. The world burns, oh well.

  21. How can we study planets while ignoring the most important planet we have? The earth sciences inform the study of other worlds.

  22. Thanks to all you Americans who voted for this or didn’t vote at all. You guys are terrible people

They act like Earth isn’t a planet.

I may be biased because I live on Earth, but it’s probably one of the most (if not THE most) interesting celestial bodies in our solar system – and it’s right under our feet!! It’s the easiest planet to get to and study! How lucky is that?!

  24. This is why when the ‘after’ is here, we need to delete every protection any religious organization or institution has from the East Coast to the West, tax them according to *current levels of wealth* at 75%, then remove any and all of their tendrils feeding into anything calling itself a “school” or “education center.”

This shit needs to be on the level of Reconstruction 2.0.

    Sorry.

That’s 2 strikes now. You’ve proven you’re too fucking stupid to govern even though you claim you’re the best of the nation, MAGA.

This Reconstruction needs to be felt.

  25. All reality is telling this administration that they’re 100% wrong about everything they believe. So their response is to plug their ears, shut their eyes, and erase everything instead of accepting it.

Sounds about right for MAGA. Their political opinions are almost universally objectively wrong and all they have is a tantrum.

After all these years, we’ve finally figured out how to beat the rocket equation: just assume gravity, air resistance and the rotation of the earth is 0.

“US Congressman, reality TV star, and television commentator”

Three strikes and you’re out. Or you never should have been in. I am really embarrassed and disappointed to be an engineer in the US.

What’s next? Eliminate earth sciences from our school curriculums.
