The country music world was heartbroken last year when legendary singer Toby Keith died after a long battle with stomach cancer.
And fans have watched in the months that have passed as his family has mourned his loss. So, it should not be surprising to know that his fans are excited this week to see the family have reason to celebrate.
That reason?
Well, Keith’s son, Stelen Covel, and his wife, Haley, just welcomed a new baby girl into the world.
They shared the news Friday on Instagram with a picture of their newborn — Millie Brooks Covel.
“Millie is here,” they wrote. “We love you so much little girl.”
According to Taste of Country, the couple first announced they were expecting back in February.
“Your dad would be so proud,” one person responded to the picture of newborn Millie.
“Awww,” another wrote. “You know your Dad is smiling down from heaven!”
“Congratulations,” another wrote. “Love her name! Welcome to the world Millie. (Toby Keith) is smiling down from Heaven…”
“Her grandpa in heaven would sure spoil her,” another wrote. “New grand baby, Toby. She is beautiful and I am so glad you guys have her.”
Keith died last February, but his name has remained on fans’ mines since, and he had a resurgence earlier this year when his “35 Biggest Hits” album saw a major spike after July 4 and shot up from No. 43 overall to No. 9 on the Billboard 200. As the date might suggest, Billboard said the spike in popularity came as folks played Keith’s album during Fourth of July celebrations.
