Phone GPS data from my last cycling trip, which was aborted after an unanticipated encounter with a physical object of roadway non-conformance, resulting in aerial excursion and rapid uncontrolled deceleration.
Hit a rock in the middle of the cycle lane and fell off my bike.
The phone was in my pocket at the time, so all motion tracks me and not the bike. Since after a certain point in the journey we parted company.
I also did not see the rock at all, so there was no braking or loss of speed before impact. In fact, I was still getting faster due to clearing the brow of the hill. Speed would have topped out at 45kph if I'd encountered the rock any further downhill.
Dislocated shoulder with a small fracture and plenty of road rash. Wear a helmet, because I did and it definitely prevented much more serious injury.

Data recorded on Samsung Health app. Graphs are native content, I haven’t got round to exporting the raw data for any other form of visualisation. A distance traveled post impact would be interesting, since I remember being several meters from the rock after the crash.
If elevation had dropped to 0 as well I would have assumed you flew into the abyss.

Just wondering.
What kind of bike were you riding, how large was the rock, and what happened for you to miss a rock large enough to propel you off the bike.
I ride a road bike and, so far at least, I was able to spot at a distance all dangerous obstacles that could result in a crash of this magnitude.
So, tell me what I should look out for, as at this point in time I have no interest in participating in this kind of acrobatic activity.

Acceleration was only about 0.15 G. That’s not even too bad!
I’m kidding though, cheers to a speedy recovery.
