The study, published by UK-based Riviera Travel, placed Krakow in fifth place, confirming that these cities are not only culturally rich but also offer a high level of security for their residents and visitors.
The Safe Destinations Index evaluates European cities using various parameters, focusing particularly on crime levels and crime trends observed over the past five years. Despite a moderate rise in crime rates over the last few years in Warsaw, the city remains remarkably safe for both locals and visitors, earning a safety score of 60.2. The presence of visible security measures, along with a drop in unemployment, has strengthened public safety across the city, making it a safe place to explore for travelers.
Warsaw: A Blend of History and Safety
Warsaw’s position as a major tourist hub is partly due to its post-war reconstruction efforts. The city has been rebuilding historic quarters, which have attracted large numbers of visitors eager to explore the rebuilt landmarks and contemporary districts.
