On August 19, a meeting took place at the Holy Metropolis of Sofia between Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia, and Mr. Dimitar Radev, Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).
During the encounter, Mr. Radev received the archpastoral blessing of Patriarch Daniel.
In the context of today’s uncertain global environment, the discussion focused on the role of spirituality and traditional values in ensuring social resilience, as well as the importance of stability, trust, and responsibility—both in the financial and in the spiritual sphere.
Patriarch Daniel emphasized the need for cooperation between the Church and state institutions for the well-being of the people. Governor Radev expressed his respect for the Church’s spiritual mission and reaffirmed the BNB’s strong commitment to continue serving the public good.
