Bulgarian authorities have apprehended a suspect in the murder of a 44-year-old woman in Parvomay. The prosecutor’s office confirmed that a 21-year-old man, identified as I. Ts., is now facing pre-trial proceedings at the Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office. He was arrested in Sofia on the same day as the crime and detained for 72 hours.
A joint briefing will be held today at 10 a.m. by officials from the Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office, the National Police General Directorate, and the Plovdiv Regional Directorate. Participants will include Plovdiv District Prosecutor Vanya Hristeva, Chief Commissioner Zahari Vaskov, Senior Commissioner Stanimir Kaloferov, Plovdiv Police Department Director Georgi Tashev, and other criminal police representatives. During the briefing, authorities are expected to reveal further details about the serious criminal offense.
The victim, D.G., was the wife of a police officer who was on night duty when the crime occurred. The assailant reportedly broke into their home and killed her. As of now, investigators have not disclosed the motives behind the attack.
