No practising Christians can be government employees. Strict interpretation cuts both ways.

With the various tactics they use against women, queer people and children I’m shocked they still have charitable status. Perhaps it’s time to begin the process of removal!

Now that they’re done with trans people they’re coming for the rest of the LGBT community. Was only a couple of months ago that campaigners successfully stopped police officers from taking part in a pride parade, and now this.
These measures may sound small to begin with but it’s a slippery slope that’s going to get grim over the next few years. It won’t be long until people are questioning gay marriage for example like they are in the US.
Who wants to bet when you look into this ‘Christian group’ its just being funded by US Republicans.
Just get on with your God bothering and leave the rest of us alone.

I have fully support people having rainbow landyards but don’t have one myself (mainly because I like my team-branded extendy one), but this course of action is probably the quickest way to get me to start wearing one.
Can we just ban religion instead please.
That would be significantly more cost-effective and be hugely beneficial for societal cohesion in the long run.
Don’t civil servants usually attend these pride events on their personal time usually as a representative of the civil service through the appropriate networking group.
Religious fundamentalism is something to be opposed at every turn tbh.
I wonder what the free speech campaigners will say of this. Not the actual ones, but the ones who say that hatred against immigrants and transphobia must be protected.
Sad to see the steady influx of Far Right Christian culture war bollocks infiltrating UK social media in the last week or so. I’m a Christian but these guys don’t represent me. It’s “love thy neighbour” not “love thy neighbour unless they are gay”.

I’m someone who fully supports freedom of religion, but people who exploit their religion like this make it VERY difficult to support freedom of religion.
So whilst we’ve all been telling the Islamist nutters to fuck off, the Christian nutters have snuck in behind us. Fuck me, why can’t we all just get along.
Personally i think we should ban graphic depictions of torture. Parents are internationally exposing their children to half naked depictions of crucifixion for their pleasure.
At least crucifixes should be banned around children and parents prosecuted for child abuse.
(Or we could all stop being dicks).
And here we go, now that the UK state is quite literally allowing groups to persecute trans people, and by extension that lead to the police being banned from having pride flags or joining in at pride by the police force. Other groups are now joining in.
The entire SC case, and the EHRC guidance drama etc its all wedge issues to eventually rollback the rights of all LGBT people.
The war on the rainbow continues unabated thanks to the government’s trade deals with trump.
How about we ban the tax exempt status of religious institutions then.

It’s always amusing to me how the most outspoken of the religious folks entirely miss the message of their faith.
Do unto others, turn the other cheek, love thy neighbour, judge not lest ye be judged etc. and instead hyper fixate on how a book, I am certain most of them have not read, can be used to justify their own biases.
There is also the way the rules that they fixate on are right next to other rules they ignore completely. Such a disingenuous group of petty, feeble minded, easily led hypocrites.
If you are going to be religious, that’s fine, but read your books and if you are going to try to force others to live by the rules of your faith (which you shouldn’t, as stated by the rules of your faith), at least live by them yourself.
This kind of hypocritical religious zealotry is only going to get worse in the U.K. as American religious extremist groups will continue funding these Christian campaigners in order to influence and dominate our country’s political decisions and culture. They hope to make us abandon logic and reason like they did.
If she feels so strongly like this, can we send Linzi Smith to somewhere like Alabama or Arkansas where she can be as aggressively Christian as she likes without infringing upon our rights?
