ASH: Filkov’s statement endangers the representation of Albanians

The Alliance for Albanians expresses deep concern over the statement by Igor Filkov, Minister of Justice, about the possibility of reviewing the Badenter majority. This mechanism is fundamental to guaranteeing the representation of the Albanian community in the institutions of North Macedonia.
“The minister’s statement is unacceptable and constitutes a direct threat to the rights and representation of Albanians. After the removal of the Balancer, the removal of the Badenter is now also being demanded, putting ethnic equality and democratic principles at risk,” the Alliance for Albanians emphasizes.
The alliance also accuses the ruling coalition VALENT:
“VLEN continues to support every anti-Albanian initiative of the illegitimate government. By remaining silent and accepting such actions, VLEN is endangering the interests and rights of Albanians, legitimizing the discriminatory policy of this government.”
The Alliance for Albanians demands from all international institutions and factors:
“Intervene and stop this offensive against the representation of Albanians, because any attempt to remove the mechanisms guaranteeing ethnic equality is an attack on the democracy and stability of the country.”
The Alliance for Albanians will stand steadfast in defending the rights, representation and equality of the Albanian community in North Macedonia.
