Croatian President Zoran Milanović held talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán yesterday on the island of Brač, where the Hungarian leader is spending his summer holiday, the President’s Office confirmed.
Although the Croatian head of state does not hold executive powers, the Office emphasized that it is the president’s duty to engage in dialogue with senior officials of other countries.
Croatia and Hungary, described as neighboring and friendly nations with a long-shared history, maintain continuous political relations despite certain unresolved issues.
During their meeting, Milanović and Orbán exchanged views on current global developments, according to the official statement.
