ZAPATA COUNTY, Tex. (KGNS) – Emergency room services may be coming to a much-needed area in South Texas.
On Monday morning, August 25, the Zapata County Commissioners’ Court presented a proposal from a group of medical experts to provide residents with emergency care services and imaging.
Currently, when Zapata residents have a medical emergency, they are taken to Laredo for treatment. However, commissioners claim that people have moved away from Zapata in search of better access to medical care.
In response to this, discussions are currently underway to provide this service for community members in the near future.
