His comment was uncalled for in the context of his position. No matter if it’s true or not.

  2. jesus christ man, why we gotta have so much unhinged people working in positions of power…

Honestly, as a woman, this will be quietly condoned. Malta has a huge issue with women across many aspects of life in malta. Look at the representation in politics, women in c suite, and even down to how men vs women are perceived and treated at home.

It is no surprise he said the quiet part out loud

A big problem with violence against woman is the language we use, as language shapes our thoughts. This is a perfect example; on the same morning, two headlines, one about violent language on women, and another the manifestation of it.

The Labour party has already come out and said that an apology was enough and business as usual.

There is a quiet, but very present, growing problem of misogyny in this country which I feel more and more the older I get. Was shocked to read this but as some other people said, he said the quiet part out loud.

  8. man the comments are wild. My opinion is what ever he meant by what he said he should not have said it, the position he is in comes with an expected level of professionalism and common fucking sense. Absolute troglodyte.

Y’all are so sensitive clearly he ment getting spanked in bed. Some like to get choked and shit too. The only beating he meant was his cock against a consenting adult. Chill dawg

  11. Not that it would make it any better, but “jissawtu” in this context would have been better translated as “to be punished” or something along those lines. Obviously it can also mean to be slapped literally but the verb is more often used idiomatically to mean some form of punishment, often self-inflicted. In any case it’s still very misogynistic.

  12. Are we surprised, I’m not , it’s very typical of men of his political leaning, always has been and always will be. I bet you that he got a couple of pats on the back u “sewwa għedtlu” from the guys at the kazin this morning.

If Malta was a normal country and the female lejbour MP’s were elected by popularity rather than the I got on top thanks to my vagaina quota kieku they would be sounding the alarm within the party but they are too happy receiving updates for their designer bag order from Paris. Ok rant over!
