Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which he described as “long and friendly”.

Through a post on Instagram, Vučić said that he and Lavrov discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, deepening economic cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, as well as political coordination in international organizations and institutions.

At the center of the conversation, according to Vučić, was Kosovo, about which he repeated the claim that “the Serbian population is experiencing continuous persecution” and accused the international community of “silence” towards the situation.

“I also informed Minister Lavrov about the domestic situation, especially when it comes to the situation in Kosovo and the ongoing efforts to expel our population from their centuries-old homes, as well as the silence of most of the international community,” Vučić wrote on Instagram.

He said that during the conversation he also focused on developments in the region, mentioning Bosnia and Herzegovina and, as he said, “attacks on the Serbian entity, Republika Srpska”, as well as the crisis that, according to him, is “instigated from abroad”.
