Be careful in bus and train stations as well. These scammers are everywhere.

Did you check his price list?

Yeah, bullshit taxis. I only order them via TaxiMe. Those scammers get more and more annoying at the airport as well.

These are scammers. They are imitating OK Supertrans including the name and number(real number is 02 973 2121 not 972121(not even a real number). For some reason all fake taxi companies only target and copy OK Supertrans.

Taking a taxi from the airport is such a dumb decision when the metro station is right there and costs 1,60 lev and also you have a bunch of buses and trams to get you anywhere in the city and outside of it.

How did you get it from the airport? There is parking outside arrivals with taxis and only yellow are allowed there

Do NOT ever hop in a taxi, if the taxi driver is:
– smiling at you;
– kindly asking if you need a ride;
– helping you with your luggage.
Honest Bulgarian taxi drivers will:
– NEVER acknowledge your human existence;
– DEMAND that you speak native level Bulgarian;
– TELL you how they f*cked up this country (in Bulgarian).
My work here is hopefully done #02 #hatecity

Triumf and Hippo are S tier, I’m surprised you don’t have them in Sofia 😅

Weirdly they’re legal somehow, and will go to court for higher bills. (Above 100 BGN)
Always pay with card (yes some even have POS terminals) and ask for receipt that is describing how the total amount was calculated. If none is provided (or there’s amount mismatch) you can ask your bank for charge back, as the taxi driver cannot legally provide a proof regarding the amount he was supposed to charge you.
Unless* he’s giving you a detailed and correct receipt BUT scamming you by charging extra for the time spent in the taxi. As this is not regulated like min/max KM per BGN
