STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University is bringing the roar of Paulson Stadium to the digital gridiron with the launch of the EA Sports College Football 26 Tournament. Students, alumni, and fans across Eagle Nation will have the chance to compete, represent their school, and embrace the Eagle spirit in this one-of-a-kind competition.
The tournament celebrates the return of one of the most iconic sports video game franchises, blending the pageantry of college football with the intensity of competitive gaming.
Tournament Details
- Game: EA Sports College Football 26
- Eligibility: Open to Eagle Nation & Georgia Southern fans (no age restrictions)
- Platforms: Xbox & PlayStation 5 (participants must own a copy of College Football 26 and have an active Xbox Live or PlayStation Network account)
- Start Date: Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025
- Format: Bracket-style. Early rounds will be played virtually; middle rounds will be hosted at Georgia Southern’s Virtual Collaboration Center; and championship rounds will take place live at the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center and Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
- Registration Deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025
- Prizes: Winners advancing to the Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final 4 will receive prizes. The Champion will earn:
- $500 in GS apparel from the Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore
- Custom championship merch (courtesy of Barnes & Noble)
- A VIP gameday experience with on-field recognition at the October 9th home game (includes +1 guest)
“We’re thrilled to host an EA Sports College Football 26 Tournament to showcase Georgia Southern and the Eagles who are in the game,” said Director of Athletics Chris Davis. “Events like this give us another opportunity to connect with Eagle Nation in a fun and innovative way, while also putting a spotlight on Georgia Southern and the passion our students, alumni and supporters bring every day.”

Participants can register now through the GS Athletics App or online via the Tournament Website. Official tournament rules are also available there.
