Angela Aggeler: Macedonia is my home, I want to see young people and citizens realize their potential

The United States Ambassador to North Macedonia, Angela Aggeler, in an interview for the show “Macedonia in the Morning” on Radio Television of Macedonia (RTM), spoke about her personal connection to the country, the US commitment to the democratic development and Euro-Atlantic integration of North Macedonia, as well as the confidence she has in the potential of its citizens, especially its youth.
“It’s hard to put into words what Macedonia means to me,” said Ambassador Aggeler, adding: “This country has been my home for six years now – which for an American diplomat is a very long time. Macedonia is a country that I love, respect and wish the best for.”
Aggeler emphasized that she wakes up every day motivated to contribute in the best possible way to the development of the country. “One of the things that gives me energy every morning is the desire to do everything I can, so that this love and dedication to this country translates into concrete results, into democratic development, stability and progress,” she said.
The American ambassador also focused on the great potential that, according to her, exists within Macedonian society – especially among young people. “Macedonia has an extraordinary asset – its youth. It has an energetic, creative and engaged young generation that deserves every opportunity to build the future of its country. The United States is here to support this journey,” Aggeler declared, Zhurnal.mk reports.
Describing the US-Macedonia partnership as stable and strong, Aggeler stressed that Washington remains committed to supporting North Macedonia in its aspirations for full membership in the European Union, for strengthening democratic institutions, and for the fight against corruption.
“We are always here to work together to achieve those goals,” the ambassador concluded, delivering a clear message: the US is not just a strategic partner, but a steadfast and sincere friend of North Macedonia.
