Serbia’s unemployment rate fell to 8.5% in the second quarter of 2025, from a one-year high of 9.1% in the first quarter.

The number of unemployed people decreased by 22.4 thousand quarter-on-quarter to 267.0 thousand.

Meanwhile, the employment rate inched up to 51.5% from 51.4%, even though the number of employed people dropped slightly by 1.2 thousand to 2.89 million.

The labor force participation rate fell by 0.4 percentage points to 56.2% in the second quarter.
