For this reason, portraying the entire event in negative terms is not only incorrect but also unfair. Mr. Szczerk did not commit a wrongful act; rather, he set an example that even small situations can be used as a teaching moment and as an opportunity to talk about how to take care of things that are given to us.

And finally – this so-called pseudo-scandal is a textbook example of how quickly the uneducated crowd jumps at the throats of those standing above them – intellectually, financially, and socially. The mob contents itself with empty accusations, because that is the only tool it has: anonymous barking on the internet. None of you have the knowledge, class, or means to reach the level at which my client operates.

The facts are clear and indisputable: civil law leaves no doubt that we are dealing with legal possession fully in line with the existing order. Everything else is nothing more than the frustration of poor people who have never held anything more valuable in their hands than a bargain-bin knockoff. It’s no wonder then that, in your eyes, my client’s gesture grows into the rank of a crime – you simply cannot grasp the scale of actions that for him are an everyday matter.

Let’s put it plainly: you can, at most, stand in line at the checkout in Biedronka and dream of a hint of what for us is a standard of life. A fake cap from Allegro – that’s the peak of your aspirations. Meanwhile, we operate on a level where an object becomes a symbol, a gesture – social capital, and an opportunity – an investment in the future. Think of the thousands of entrepreneurs who, despite persecution and obstacles, are still the salt of this earth.

Let your outrage ring out as much as it wants. It makes no difference to us. We set the rules of the game, because we have the means, the knowledge, and the position. You can, at most, clap in [removed by administrator] to feel noticed for a moment. History, however, will not remember your comments.
