Spain was very poor during the preparation period for this EuroBasket, as there’s no other way to describe the fact that they recorded only one win in six games — and that was against the Czech Republic. The best individual in the match against Georgia was Juancho Hernangomez, who scored all 13 of his points in the second half. Interestingly, while he was on the court, Spain held a 10-point advantage.
Bosnia and Herzegovina qualified for this EuroBasket with a spectacular win over Croatia, and it seemed that the team might be capable of delivering more significant performances and seriously challenging most of their opponents. However, as is often the case with the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, problems are everywhere. Not a single tournament cycle passes without major issues, whether due to injuries or other matters. Fortunately for them, in the first round, they faced the host of the group, Cyprus, who were completely outmatched, and Bosnia and Herzegovina secured the win.
