Article didn’t offer details but I’m assuming it’s going to Huntsville? It does have the Redstone arsenal and a ton of rocket development infrastructure. Not to mention all the contractors are there. Space command in rocket city isn’t completely insane.
I do feel bad for Colorado and this might be a partisan move but I can at least see a line of logic here something that’s pretty uncommon for this administration.

This is really a terrible decision. All the facilities necessary are already in Colorado Springs (and were there before Space Force existed, really). A lot of civilian contractors who support it aren’t going to make the move to Alabama. A lot of expertise will be lost.

Like Space Force? Space Force command? lol not like it matters. Minot, North Dakota and Canon AFB in New Mexico aren’t bustling and booming the local economies. What matters is not the state, but the location in the state. If it’s in BFE, it practically doesn’t matter how much money comes to it. Everyone will just stay on base and shop the BX. The most they’ll get is money flowing into bars and strip clubs the further into nowhere it is.
But Alabama I’m sure has some bigger cities. If it’s along the Gulf of Mexico then you’ll have a pretty clear shot to NOLA to the west and Keesler AFB to the east, which is right by the Hard Rock Cafe! Both of those are out of state, once again BTW.
