Greece suffered their first defeat of EuroBasket 2025, falling to Bosnia and Herzegovina, 77–80.
Greece played without their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who missed his second game of the tournament due to knee discomfort.
After the game, Bosnia’s center Jusuf Nurkic, who led his team with 18 points and 10 rebounds, said Giannis’ absence didn’t change the game plan, and that their approach on offense and defense remained the same.
“It didn’t change a lot,” Nurkic said postgame via Christos Tsaltas. “We had the same attachments on offense and defense. Regardless of who plays, you have to have the same discipline.”
For Bosnia, it was their second win of the tournament, further complicating the situation in Group C. Three teams — Spain, Italy, and Bosnia — now have two wins, with Georgia potentially joining them as they face Cyprus later today.
On Thursday, Bosnia are set to face Georgia in a crucial last Group C game, meanwhile Greece will face Spain to finish the group stage.
EuroBasket 2025 – Rosters of all national teams
EuroBasket 2025, starting on August 27, will be the central topic of discussion in the coming period, alongside basketball transfers in Europe and worldwide.
National team gatherings across the Old Continent have already begun, and coaches have announced extended player lists, with only 12 players from each team set to secure their plane tickets for EuroBasket 2025.
EuroBasket 2025 will be hosted by four countries – Cyprus, Poland, Finland, and Latvia.
The final phase of the competition, meaning all national team matches after the group stage, will be played in Latvia, specifically in Riga, with the final scheduled for September 14.
