  1. Lol, i would pay to watch this in court..

It’s literally there for everyone to see. Does he actually know so little about plants that he actually believes that grass will grow there if it’s covered in gravel?

I mean, how can you be that…ignorant? Especially when it’s supposed to be your job. I mean, just read a book on gardening if nothing else..

  2. How the f do you call a video taken at the actual location FAKE NEWS? Looking forward to the day this case lands in court and he’s made to submit into evidence all the research & scientific analysis they did before covering the area… /s

  4. What i don’t understand, what is everyone expecting when there are huge festivals going on in the summer months?
Malta is dry in summer, but all the people on top. It’s impossible to grow anything there with this circumstances.
Or is this guy mixing up the two areas? Next to it is the new park I believe which should be green

I did some research with the help of AI and came up with this info. Some of the below may not be ideal for a Maltese climate but as you can see there are a number of alternatives and I am sure there are more or a mix of solutions can be used.

    # 🌳 Park Surface Options – Cost vs. Appearance

    |Option|Initial Cost|Maintenance Cost|Appearance Now|Appearance Later (weather change)|Notes|
    |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|
    |**Gravel / Sand**|Low|Low (raking/top-up)|Grey, harsh, artificial|No greenery returns — stays grey regardless of rain|Cheap but unattractive long-term|
    |**Wood Chips / Bark Mulch**|Low–Medium (often free)|Medium (top-up every 2–3 yrs)|Warm brown, natural|Stays brown; no grass regrowth unless mulch breaks down and soil is reseeded|Good natural dust control, softer feel|
    |**Hoggin / Compacted Granite**|Medium|Low|Natural tan/earthy|Stays earthy/tan; no grass regrowth through surface|More natural than gravel, but not green|
    |**Clover (White/Micro)**|Very Low (cheap seed)|Low (occasional mow)|Patchy green first season|Greens up again when rain returns, stays more resilient than grass|Best low-cost “green” fix|
    |**Creeping Thyme / Chamomile**|Medium (higher seed/plant cost)|Low|Sparse green patches|Spreads into lush green/flowering mat; regrows each season with rain|More attractive, long-term greenery|
    |**Native Wildflowers Mix**|Low|Very Low|Patchy, colorful flowers|Seasonal regrowth with rain — returns yearly, more meadow than lawn|Cheap, pollinator-friendly|
    |**Permeable Paving / Geocells**|High|Very Low|Clean, structured|Only regrows greenery if filled with soil and seeded; otherwise stays hard surface|Best for heavy-use paths, not for green look|
