SDSM leader Venko Filipçe said that young people in Macedonia today live in a country that is not developing, a country where there is no prosperity.
Filipçe emphasized that the lack of a strategy for improving the labor market and growing poverty are just some of the reasons why young people see their future outside of Macedonia.
“The number of employed people in the country has decreased by over 17.000 people. For example, I was in Delchevo. In this city, on average, about 100 students graduate every year. This year, 90 of them are enrolled in faculties in Bulgaria. Why? Because we do not have a university that is on the Shanghai list. There are no serious investments in science, there is no support for research, there are no qualities that would keep young people here,” Filipche said.
Filipçe emphasized that all parameters show that the government is not taking care of citizens, especially young people.
“The job positions that are opening up are all low-wage, they are not stable incomes, this is just survival, it is not development. Every time they say that salaries are increasing, these are only minimal percentages that with inflation, which they do not control, are destroyed before they are felt,” Filipçe said.
