Deer Valley Resort: Deer Valley will be hosting their second Future in Flight event Sunday. From 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., guests can watch the resort install new lift towers for the Relevator Express and Park Peak lifts, part of Deer Valley’s expanded terrain. The first 750 guests at the Snow Park Lodge will receive free scenic chairlift tickets for the event, to be viewed from atop Bald Mountain. Additional tickets can be purchased from 10 a.m. onward, with a free children’s ticket for every adult one. Deer Valley will have its typical Silver Lake Lodge setup with food, bands and activities running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Miners: The Miners girls soccer team took down Juan Diego Catholic Thursday on the road 6-1. Park City opened up a 4-1 first half lead, scoring twice more in the second. Elsa Dellenbach led the Miners with two goals and assists. Park City is on a six-game winning streak, set to take on Highland Tuesday at the North 40 Playing Fields at 5:30 p.m.
The Miners girls volleyball team took down Judge Memorial Catholic Thursday at home three sets to none. Park City dominated sets one and two 25-11 and 25-6, respectively, with the third being a tight 25-23. The Miners are 4-6, with Highland up next on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at home.
The Miners boys golf team finished third in their match Thursday at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Taylorsville. Park City carded 288 as a team, with winners East shooting 280. Linus Einum led the Miners, shooting 70. Park City is still in search of their first win of the season.
The Miners girls tennis team took down East Tuesday at home three matches to two. Park City saw wins at the one and two singles spots and one doubles. The Miners were 6-1 heading into Thursday’s match with Murray and Friday’s with Judge Memorial Catholic. Park City will take on Juan Diego Catholic Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. on the road.
