It is very exciting to see a character eat a fabada with the descendants of his family in Llongoria, Asturias, in the house of his ancestors. In addition, they gave him a family tree and could contemplate his family’s shield. His ancestor left Cádiz being very young, after having marched from Llongoria with only 11 years, in 1604.

Eleven generations had to pass to return and step on their homeland again. It is something that I also felt when I was in Bilbao for the first time in 2016. They say that, when we landed in the land of our origins, the blood begins to boil.

The program is fine, although I think it needs to tour empty Spain and other regions. Obviously, it’s the first season and I hope there is more. It is not a perfect series, since its greatest difficulty is that Spanish does not speak well; However, respect their passion and intention to show and celebrate small projects and local producers. Very cool.

I just saw the complete series and, as a person with very marked roots and with a very long lineage from Elorrio, the Basque Country, the chapter dedicated to the Basque Country left me full of pride. Thirteen generations behind, my family was one of the most important stately houses in Bizkaia and founder of Michoacán and Jalisco in Mexico. A Sephardic branch, with a lot of history, good and bad.

For those who are looking for their roots in the Basque Country: all my Basque family tree was confirmed by DNA (MTDNA and Y-700 tests) and documentation, thanks to the support of the Basque Library of the Sancho Foundation the Wise Vital Fundazioa, one of the most important documentation centers in the world in regards to Basque culture. Constituted within the Vital Foundations (which also integrate Vital Fundazioa, Fundación Vital Fundazioa, Vital Fundazioa Foundation and Vital Banking Foundation – Vital Banku Fundazioa), retains the bibliographic and documentary memory of the Basque people throughout its history. His library contains, since 1964, a valuable documentary fund with monographs, periodic publications, photographs, manuscripts, maps and family documentation; A patrimonial wealth that has made it an indispensable reference for research on Basque culture.

It is very moving to see a character eating favor with his families in Llongo, at his home of his ancestors of Asturias. He also gave a genealogical tree and was able to see the coat of arms of his family. His ancestor went out of Kádize that he was very young, after llongoria 11, 1604. Year.

There have been eleven generations to return to his hometown again. I also felt something similar when I was in Bilbao for the first time in 2016. They say that when we reach our homeland begins blood.

It’s a good program, but I think it’s lacking to travel empty Spain and other regions. Of course, it’s the first season and I hope it is more. It’s not the perfect series because it doesn’t know Spanish well; However, I respect his passion and intent to show and celebrate small projects and local producers. Really nice.

Ví Searching for Mexico y es una mierda en comparación con Searching for Italy de Stanley Tucci. Ojalá Searching for Spain sea mejor.

  5. She’s so lucky! I did my genealogy and have a lot of Longoria ancestors on both sides. I’m also from South Texas like Eva. A lot of ancestors are from Asturias. The rest in Andalucia.
