In the late 1980s and early 90s, when Kosovo was going through very difficult times, Chetta and a group of intellectuals began a magnificent movement: they visited hostile families and persuaded them to forgive blood. This movement culminated in 1990 in Luke’s Verra, where hundreds of thousands of Albanians were forgiven before thousands of blood feuds. It was an extraordinary act that united us, strengthened us and prepared us as a nation in the face of the challenges that were coming.

Anton Chetta is a symbol of popular unity, reconciliation, and wisdom. He taught us that Albanians become indestructible only when they are united.
