On 1 September 2025, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Irakli Kurashvili, presented his credentials to the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace.
Following the ceremony, President Macron and Ambassador Kurashvili held a conversation that focused on prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries.
President Macron reaffirmed France’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European aspirations. Georgia’s geostrategic role and the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the Black Sea region were also emphasized.
On behalf of the Government of Georgia, Ambassador Kurashvili expressed readiness to further strengthen the partnership between Georgia and France.
The President of France extended his best wishes for success to Georgia’s newly appointed Ambassador in his future endeavors.
