The facility furthers Populous’ dedication to professional women’s sports and will feature two regulation-sized courts with natural light, strength and conditioning equipment, a yoga and Pilates area, hydration station and a full-service kitchen. Successful athlete support also means creating space to recover and recharge and will offer massage, infrared light therapy, sauna, steam, heat studios and multiple hydrotherapy pools. This spa-like retreat allows players to relax without leaving the facility.
“What we’re celebrating today is the beginning of something transformational, an exclusive facility built specifically to support our players at every level, both professionally and personally,” said Kelly Krauskopf, president of the Indiana Fever. “The Indiana Fever have always been proud to call Indianapolis home and as we break ground, we’re building upon our city and organization’s commitment to being a global leader in women’s sports.”
The team will also have a private outdoor courtyard and mental performance spaces. A hair and nail salon and childcare space are a testament to the consideration of all facets of the life of a female athlete. A professional-grade podcast and content production studio are ready for in-house use to make the athletes more comfortable with interviews and social media.
