Thousands of young people went down to Nepal on Monday to protest against the blocking of social networks and corruption in the country. In the repression by the police, at least 22 deaths are currently recorded, reports India Today, and over 400 injured in Kathmandu, where the curfew, and Itahari was imposed.

The “revolution of the Z generation”, as the press renamed it, brought Tuesday to the resignation of Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, who a declaration said he had made this decision to open the way to the constitutional solution of the current crisis, and to the resignation of President Ram Chandra Paudel. Despite the resignation, protests continue with the demonstrators who targeted the houses of several political leaders and who set fire to the office of the president of the resigned Paudel, who was evacuated by helicopter to Shivapuri, in the northern part of the Kathmandu valley, where there is a military training center, to guarantee its safety.

A fire was stuck to the residence of Dalu of the former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal: the flames caused the death of the ex -premier’s wife, seriously burned by the fire, and during the protests the foreign minister of Nepal, Arzu Rana, and her husband Sher Bahadur Deuba, president of the Nepalese congress (NC) and former prime minister were attacked.

Images taken up in the capital Kathmandu show smoke that rises on the roofs while anti -government violence intensifies, writes the BBC referring that the protesters have set fire to several important buildings in the city, including Parliament, and vandalized the historic buildings.

The authorities continue to urge citizens to maintain calm, the army has reiterated its commitment to protect the life and the assets of the Nepalese people remembering that the safeguarding of the historical, cultural, archaeological and national heritage is a duty of every citizen. An appeal that does not seem to appease the protests since the demonstrators have also set fire to the complex of the Supreme Court, vandalizing and setting the vehicles inside, to the office of the Prosecutor General, carrying out vandalism and arson deeds, and to the Special Court and the district court of Kathmandu. The files of the Prosecutor General, the Special Court and the District Court would have been brought out and set fire.

The demonstrators broke into Nakkhu prison to free Rabi Lamichhane, leader of the independent national party, the RSP, where he was from 4 April as part of an investigation for embezzlement of cooperatives. Two ministers of the congress, that of the interior and that of agriculture, disagreed with the violent repression: the police used hydrants, tear gas and bullets to disperse young people.

The Tribhuvan International Airport of Katmondu is currently closed for security reasons: in the morning the Indian companies Air India and Indigo had already erased their flights to the Nepalese capital.
