  1. While contactless mobile payment methods like Apple Pay already have no limit they also have a lot of additional security around executing the payment, this feels dangerous on contactless cards where there is none.

Call me a Luddite but I’ve been happy to stick to the £45 limit. The extra seconds needed to type a PIN is hardly an issue.

  3. Personal preferences need to be the way forward. My bank only lets me set my ATM daily withdrawal limit, contactless should be on there too.

As long as banks don’t force this change(by removing any attempt to regulate yourself with a forced limit put onto your card by the bank at your request), can see this as a good change for a lot of people otherwise yeah, can see this having a knock off effect with more reported fraud.

  5. Hopefully there is a setting in the banking app to raise and lower the cap, so I can keep it at what I want

  6. I’m still puzzled why we don’t have contactless + PIN for high value transactions. I’ve seen that in Spain. Would be surely fairly simple to implement given other countries are already doing it.
