Greece, N.Y. — Two brothers are facing charges in connection to a shooting early Friday morning.
Devon Smith Jr., 28, of Greece, was involved in a physical fight with his mother at a home on Foster Road in Greece around 1:45 a.m. when his brother, Fabion Brock, 22, of Greece, intervened, according to the Greece Police Department. Smith pulled out a gun, which then discharged, striking him in the hip and groin area. He handed the firearm to Brock, who threw it into an unknown body of water before officers arrived.
Smith was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and listed in stable condition, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Smith and Brock were both arrested and face a weapons charge, as well as tampering with physical evidence, according to police. Smith was issued an appearance ticket, while Brock was arraigned in CAP court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail.
