AND AS THE COMPETITION RAMPS UP, IT’S IMPORTANT FOR STUDENT ATHLETES TO STAY ON TOP OF THEIR OVERALL HEALTH AS WELL. AND OUR MORNING ANCHOR KELLY RIPPIN HAD A CHANCE TO SEE THE CLINIC IN ACTION. ON MY BACK. YEAH, ON YOUR BACK. IT TAKES LESS THAN TEN MINUTES. THEN THEY PUT, LIKE, GOOPY STUFF ON MY CHEST, AND THAT FELT KIND OF WEIRD. BUT AS SOON AS A STUDENT CAN GET PAST THE GOOPY STUFF, IT’S JUST A MATTER OF SECONDS. ONCE WE GET THE STICKERS ON, IT TAKES ABOUT 30S OF RECORDING TO GET THAT EKG. ALL RIGHT, SO THIS IS YOUR HEART LAYING ON ITS SIDE, AN EKG, AND THEN AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM, AND IT’S BACK TO CLASS. HEART RATE, RHYTHM, ALL THAT STUFF. OH YEAH. THAT’S THE GOAL OF THE CORE FOUNDATION. BRING ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE CARDIAC SCREENINGS TO STUDENTS. BEING ABLE TO TO WORK IN THE SCHOOLS DOES A COUPLE OF THINGS. A THE KIDS ARE COMFORTABLE IN THIS SETTING. THEY’RE NOT IN A IN A CLINICAL SETTING. AND IT’S SUPER CONVENIENT FOR MOM AND DAD. THEY DON’T HAVE TO TAKE THE STUDENT TO ANY SPECIFIC APPOINTMENT. THEY’RE ABLE TO SHOW UP DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. THEY’RE WITH US TEN MINUTES AND THEY’RE RIGHT BACK INTO CLASS. ALL RIGHT, THAT PART’S ALL DONE AT A PREVIOUS SCREENING, A STUDENT’S CONDITION WAS FLAGGED AND SENT FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. ACTUALLY, HERE AT NAGEL, BEFORE WE HAD A STUDENT THAT HAD WOLFF-PARKINSON-WHITE, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN GET FIXED SURGICALLY, BUT YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE YOU HAVE IT, BUT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. IT CAN PUT YOU INTO A DANGEROUS, DEADLY RHYTHM. TODAY, THAT STUDENT STILL PARTICIPATING IN SCHOOL SPORTS AND FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS, COACHES AND ATHLETIC TRAINERS, THE CARDIAC SCREENING JUST ADDS A LITTLE PEACE OF MIND. IT WOULD GIVES ME A LITTLE MORE REASSURANCE KNOWING WHAT CONDITIONS MY ATHLETES MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE. MY DAD TOLD ME TO, AND I THOUGHT, LIKE, IF THERE’S A SMALL CHANCE I DO HAVE A HEART PROBLEM. SO IF I KNOW FOR SURE THEN IT’S BETTER. MANY OF OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS ARE PARTNERED WITH EMCOR TO SEE IF THERE IS A SCREENING SETUP AT YOUR SCHOOL OR REQUEST ONE. HEAD TO OUR WEBSI
